MEDITATION (Poemas de Padua (1). Poems from Padova I)

En los días que he pasado en Montegrotto Terme (Padua) haciendo la formación para instructor de MBSR he escrito varios poemas, algunos de ellos en inglés.


                          I

                                To (or mostly from) EPICTETUS


God is not beyond the world,
                 above the world.

He is what it IS, as it is.

Could you disagree with God?
Would you like to argue with God?

So, love God,
and go through the glass.

[*The matter of this poem is not a religious one, the theme is you  -that is, us- and our relationship to what it IS as it is. It has to do with issues such as acceptance and resistance. In addition, I would like to point out that acceptance is not incompatible with change and trasformation, and that it is different from mere resignation].

[*NOTA: A pesar de que aparece la palabra God (Dios), este poema no tiene una intención religiosa, ni pretende expresar una verdad metafísica completa, sino que habla de nuestra relación con lo que ES, y tiene que ver con cuestiones como la aceptación y la resistencia. Además, la aceptación no es incompatible con el cambio y la transformación -como explico en la entrada sobre aceptación-].
[**NOTA: Aunque el poema me recuerda algunas ideas de Epícteto, también me recuerda, en parte, la idea de amor fati de Nietzsche).
